A message from our President
Welcome to the Probus Club of Ballarat South website. Our members (over 120) are retirees or are not working full time. One of the newer Probus clubs in Ballarat, we welcome members from all over the Ballarat Region and beyond. We have a large number of activities occurring on a regular basis as well as individual ones that “pop up”. An idea of these activities can be found by perusing our newsletters on this site.
We meet on the second Thursday of the month and welcome visitors to view our club’s vibrancy and enthusiasm.
With Fun, Friendship and Fellowship our motto, we believe we create an interesting and enjoyable environment for our members.

Probus Club of Ballarat South
Why Probus?
The name “Probus” is derived from joining abbreviations of the words “Professional” and “Business”.
Membership is open to all retired or semi-retired people, whether or not they were in engaged in Professional or Business careers.
All Probus Groups are formed by Rotary Clubs, and once started, are autonomous.
Probus Clubs are not like, for example, Service Clubs.
We are a not-for-profit Organisation, non-Political, non-Sectarian, and do not engage in fund-raising.
Joining a Probus Club provides you with an opportunity to make new friends, engage in activities you wish to, and avoid isolation and boredom.
Why Probus Club of Ballarat South Inc.?
We are one of the newer Probus Clubs in Ballarat with so much to offer prospective members. We are an active Club with many interest groups and social activities in which to participate. We care for one another, enjoy great fellowship, discover new interests, have a lot of fun and find new friends.
Our membership is not limited to people from Ballarat South, we welcome applications from residents within the Ballarat area and beyond.
